Lovelock’s shoulders

In stock

Lovelocks Shoulders is part of a series of works in which a repeated male figure represents a carbon atom in molecular structures. The title refers to both James Lovelock, the progenitor of the theory of gaia which sees all life as interconnected and Newton's quote "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants". It is also a personal recognition of debt I owe to the great heritage of sculptors and thinkers who have gone before me.
